Starts August 19, 2026
Understanding the Challenges
Many adults with developmental disabilities face barriers when transitioning into adulthood and exploring employment opportunities. While individuals may possess strong abilities, interests, and talents, they are often given limited opportunities to gain real-world experience, develop workplace confidence, or strengthen practical employment skills within supportive environments. For many families, finding structured opportunities that focus on vocational readiness, communication skills, and independence can be difficult after school-based services end. Individuals may also experience challenges related to social communication, workplace expectations, anxiety, confidence, executive functioning, or adapting to unfamiliar environments. Cedar Bridge Foundation Academy was created to help address some of these challenges by providing supportive learning opportunities that encourage confidence, growth, skill development, and meaningful participation within the community.
Benefits of Participating
Participation in Employment Readiness provides opportunities for individuals to strengthen both workplace and life skills within a supportive and encouraging environment. Through guided instruction and hands-on learning experiences, participants may improve communication abilities, teamwork skills, confidence, organization, responsibility, and social interaction. The experience also encourages participants to explore their strengths and interests while developing greater independence and self-esteem. Families often look for opportunities that not only teach practical skills, but also help individuals feel valued, capable, and connected to their community. Employment Readiness is designed to support those goals while creating meaningful opportunities for personal growth.
