By becoming a volunteer at Cedar Bridge Foundation, you are helping promote our mission and provide much needed advocacy and services to individuals with special needs. Volunteering your time is extremely important and we appreciate you dedication to our community.

Why Volunteer?

Cedar Bridge Foundation volunteers help create meaningful opportunities for adults with autism and developmental disabilities to connect, learn, participate, and thrive in the community.

Whether you are helping at events, supporting programs, assisting with setup, or sharing your skills behind the scenes, your time makes a difference.

Volunteer Onboarding

All volunteers must complete the volunteer onboarding process before serving in any Cedar Bridge Foundation program, activity, event, or volunteer role. Parents, caregivers, family members, and community members are welcome and encouraged to volunteer.

How to Become a Volunteer

Follow these steps  to start making a difference as a volunteer. Become part of the Cedar Bridge Foundation team.

Step One

Complete Online Interest Form and tell us about your interest, skills, and availablity.

Step Two

Attend Volunteer Orientation session online to learn about our mission, goal & procedures.

Step Three

Review Volunteer Handbook and learn about CBF policies, expectations, and responsibilities.

Step Four

Complete Required Training and any required online courses to volunteer for CBF.

Step Five

Start Volunteering and get connected with opportunities that match you interest and availability.

Creating a Safe and Supportive Environment

Volunteer Screeing

Depending on the volunteer role of participant interaction, volunteers may be required to complete a background screening, provide references, and complete required training before serving. 

Two-Adult supervision

Cedar Bridge Foundation follows a two-adult supervision policy. Volunteers should never be alone with a participant. Whenever possible, at least two approved adults will be present during programs, activities, and events.

No One-on-One Support

Volunteers do not provide one-one-one supervision, caregiving, behavioral services, medical support, transportation, or therapeutic services.

Reporting Concerns

Any safety concerns, incidents, policy violations, suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or inappropriate conduct must be reported immediately to a Cedar Bridge Foundation staff member or program leader.

 

Volunteer Expectations

Completion of the Volunteer Interest Form, onboarding process, or training does not guarantee a volunteer placement. Volunteer opportunities are based on program needs, role requirements, approval, and availability.
