Cooking with Confidence – Cohort B (Beginner’s Level)- Session #1
Bridge to the Future: Cooking with Confidence – Cohort A is a Beginner’s Class is an 8-week introductory cooking program designed for adults with developmental disabilities who are new to the kitchen or have limited experience. This hands-on life skills course focuses on building foundational cooking knowledge while promoting independence, communication, and teamwork.
Each week introduces a new meal theme—such as breakfast, lunch, snacks, or simple desserts—while teaching essential kitchen safety, basic food prep techniques, and ServSafe food handling practices. Participants work together in a supportive environment, guided by trained volunteers, to build confidence and enjoy the fun of cooking.
This pilot program is made possible through the support of generous donors, fundraisers, and volunteers, and reflects Cedar Bridge Foundation’s mission of advocacy, skill development, and community inclusion for individuals with exceptional needs.
This Program is a pilot program. There is no cost for participants.
